Koganei Park is one of Tokyo’s biggest parks in fact ― 1.5 times the size of Shinjuku Gyo-en and Ueno parks.
Situated along the Tamagawa River water supply, with about 1700 cherry trees (and about 50 different varieties), in spring it turns into a wonderland of picturesque views of cherry blossoms. Koganei park has so many open spaces that you do not need to worry about a place to set up a picnic. Everyone is able to enjoy a light meal and leisurely conversation while being surrounded by beautiful cherry blossoms.
